BUGATTI TYPE 35 SET
The Bugatti T35 is the most mythical and admired of the Bugattis produced by Ettore Bugatti . It was launched during the French Grand Prix in Lyon on August 3rd, 1924, when 6 cars arrived by road from Molsheim, complete with a very impressive team support. In spite of poor results due to badly vulcanized Dunlop tyres, the Type 35 created quite a sensation with its light alloy rims incorporating the brake drums, as well as the very fine lines of the two-seater body (Grand Prix regulations of the time made it obligatory to have a mechanic on board).
It was the beginning of a brilliant career and a period of a real commercial success for Ettore, who, faithful to his principles, was able to sell this genuine Formula One of the Twenties to sport-loving (and fortunate) customers.
The Type 35 won more than 1.000 races, including the World Championship of 1926 and the famous Targa Florio race in Sicily over five consecutive years, from 1925 to 1929. Even after its production ended in 1930, it contributed to the success of many drivers, both enthusiasts and beginners (for example Gordini, Trintignant, Sommer...).
THE EXACTO MODEL
The Exacto Bugatti T35 model was developed after a model originally designed by Mr. David Northcott, Bristol, UK, and presented at Skegness 2003 Meccano show. Mr Northcott also contributed with the assembly instructions, and with his most valuable ideas during the development stage.
This special project was sponsored by Pur Sang, a manufacturer of the classical Bugatti T35 and of special sports cars. Their website is very much worth visiting at www.pursangweb.com .
Our Bugatti T35 model is offered both as a set and as an assembled model. The assembled option is meant for the Bugatti enthusiast that may want to own the model and lacks the Meccano modelling abilities or the time to build it.
The set includes an assembly instructions manual, 5 special aluminum Bugatti wheels and a special radiator grille, neatly packed in a wooden box with foam interiors to protect the parts.
The special Bugatti wheels can be bought separetedly, both per unit and in sets of four or five units.
